This fan is hand woven; each detail makes it unique. Crafted from the Palma de Iraca natural fiber native from the Andes region- structured yet more refiend that rafia - it is hand-dyed and sun-dried to develop its vibrant colors. It is woven by the millenary artisans from Sandona, Nariño.

THE ADORNING CHARM

Your Fan is adorned with an astonishingly intricate charm. A deep red fish, entirely hand woven by the same artisanal community that weaves the fan – it is both delicate yet sturdy. Details to be admired all around this volumetric parrot – it is the finishing touch that makes our fans so distinctively special.

THE DRAMATIC POMPOM

The XXL pompoms that hang both so elegantly and playfully, are hand crafted by our master pompon weaver in Bogota, Colombia. She has been weaving pompoms for over 30 years and is a master in her craft.

HERITAGE

Craftsmanship and sustainability are key values for Maison Alma. We work exclusively with Colombian weavers and artisans to preserve the ancient traditions that have helped these communities survive for centuries. This fan is hand woven with the ancient "Palma de Iraca" Weaving Technique, in Nariño- Colombia.

SUSTAINABILITY

This piece is crafted entirely from biodegradable natural fibers. They are sustainably sourced - in small batch parcels; that allow the land to regenerate through alternative crops. From plant to dye - they are transformed by hand by men and women who love the Palma de Iraca and treasure it as an essential core of their legacy.

CARE GUIDE

  • To better preserve the vivid colors, do not store exposed to sunlight.

  • If the pompoms are uneven or tangled, straighten with a wide-tooth comb.

  • Avoid contact with water, dry on a flat surface.
